Welcome to the SCSBOA
Music Educators Working Together Since 1937
The Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association is a non-profit organization whose active membership is drawn primarily from educational institutions—elementary schools, junior high/middle schools, senior high schools, colleges and universities. Additional membership includes students and others (private instructors, business establishments) who are active in the musical community.
The association is dedicated to enriching the cultural environment by helping all students to develop a greater appreciation of music, providing students with the means for exploring both vocational and non-vocational opportunities in music, raising performance and adjudication standards, and improving teaching techniques.
AB 351
Please read and contact your Senators, Legislators and Assembly Members - both school's address representatives and your home area. Have them vote YES on AB 351. These people need to know how important AB 351 is and how much we care about this issue. They won't know unless we call or email all of the representatives in our areas. By looking up a specific zip code, you'll find several people representing each areas. For example, Huntington Park has three Assembly members. This issue is not exclusive to L.A.U.S.D., it affects the entire state of California. It doesn't take long to contact people, so please get the word out. For more information, please go to the links below.
Please go to www.AB351.org and read the directions on the front page.
Contact your Assembly member as soon as possible.
Go to www.assembly.ca.gov
If you called in the past, call again.
Have friends, parents, students who can vote and others contact assembly members.
